Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 28 May 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, accessing, or using TANIYUR software, websites, and related services ("TANIYUR", "Services"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. Specific modules or integrations may be subject to additional terms presented at the point of use.

2. Description of service

TANIYUR provides a society management operating system for Indian residential complexes, including tools for residents, management committees, and gate or facility workflows (such as visitor management, billing and accounting features, notices, community features, optional AI assistant, and analytics, as offered from time to time).

2b. Platform vs society operations

TANIYUR is a software platform. We do not manage your physical premises, employ your security staff, or make binding decisions on who may enter the society. Management committees and authorised administrators configure the product, approve memberships, publish notices, operate gate desks, and determine society policies (including retention of visitor logs and billing rules).

Disputes between residents about society rules, maintenance charges, or visitor access are primarily matters between residents and the society. TANIYUR will provide reasonable support to restore access or remove clearly unlawful content when notified, but we are not a substitute for society governance or legal process.

2c. Society committee responsibilities

If you administer a society on TANIYUR, you agree to:

  • use the Services only with a lawful basis to process personal data about residents, staff, and visitors (including appropriate notice and consent where required under the DPDP Act and society bye-laws);
  • grant access only to verified members, staff, and roles that match real-world authority (committee, security, accounts, etc.);
  • not upload unlawful, defamatory, or discriminatory content in notices, complaints, or community features;
  • configure gate and visitor features responsibly (including optional photos and OCR) and communicate society rules to residents;
  • respond to resident data requests for records the society controls, and cooperate with TANIYUR on security incidents affecting your tenant.

2a. AI assistant

Where your society enables it, TANIYUR may offer an AI assistant that answers questions using society-scoped data (notices, amenities, your billing summary, rulebook excerpts, and similar records). Voice input is converted to text by a configured speech provider. The assistant is not legal, medical, or emergency advice. Do not share passwords or sensitive credentials in chat. Society administrators may disable AI features or limit them by subscription plan.

3. Personal data

Our processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. A summary of our approach to India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 is available on our DPDP compliance page. By using the Services where consent or notice is required, you acknowledge the applicable notices and, where you give consent, that such consent is informed and specific to the stated purpose.

4. Acceptable use

As a user (including residents, committee members, and operational staff), you agree not to:

  • use the Services for any unlawful purpose or to facilitate crime or harassment;
  • impersonate any person or supply false credentials, flat assignment, or society information;
  • attempt to bypass, probe, scrape, or weaken security, rate limits, or role-based access;
  • upload malware, excessive automated traffic, or content that violates another person's privacy (including sharing visitor photos or gate logs outside authorised society purposes);
  • harass others, send spam, or misuse community, marketplace, or messaging features;
  • misuse the AI assistant to generate harmful, deceptive, or emergency instructions (it is not a substitute for police, medical, or legal advice);
  • reverse engineer or resell the Services except where mandatory law allows;
  • use the Services in a manner that infringes third-party rights or violates applicable law, including India's DPDP Act and IT rules.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate this section or pose a security risk, with notice where practicable.

5. Payments and subscriptions

Society management committees may be subject to subscription or licence fees as set out in an order form or commercial agreement. Residents making maintenance or similar payments may be subject to fees charged by payment gateways or banks as disclosed at checkout. Refunds for society charges are governed by the relevant society's policies and applicable law; TANIYUR does not guarantee refunds for transactions between residents and their society except where expressly agreed in writing.

6. Intellectual property

Software, branding, designs, documentation, and other materials made available by TANIYUR remain our or our licensors' intellectual property. You receive a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the Services in accordance with these terms. You may not copy, reverse engineer, decompile, or redistribute our materials except where mandatory law allows.

7. Third-party services

The Services may integrate with third-party products (payment, messaging, identity, hardware). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party acts or omissions beyond what applicable law requires.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TANIYUR is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits or data, arising from use of the Services. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Services is limited to the fees you paid to TANIYUR for the Services in the twelve months preceding the claim (or, if none, to a nominal amount as permitted by law). We do not control physical premises, visitor admissions, or decisions of management committees; we provide software tools only.

9. Disclaimer

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim warranties to the extent permitted by law, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, legal requirements, fraud or abuse, or non-payment of platform fees (where applicable). Societies may deactivate individual users or roles through admin tools; residents may stop using the Services at any time.

On termination of a society subscription, we will handle export and deletion of tenant data per your commercial agreement and applicable law. Personal data retention after account closure is described in our Privacy Policy. Provisions that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive termination.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at a forum competent in India shall have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.

12. Contact
